Teara walked through the humid land, in the past few weeks she and Kent had explored almost every inch of the land. Well it had felt like it at least. They had gone south which had been torture for Kent because he dislike the cold so they had spent less than a day in the snowy lands, they had then gone west to the bone-lands and they had even ventured near Mount. Ornus. She had found that particularly frightening. She never wanted to go back there if she never had to.
She flopped down onto a bed of dead leaves and stared up at the jungle foliage. This place was noisy, but it was a noise that was somewhat soothing. She could hear various insects buzzing and birds singing, she could even hear creatures scuffling in the undergrowth. It was the kind of noise that was silent. She liked it. She wondered if Kent would like it, after all he was rather sensitive to noise.
She felt a strange sort of warmth spread through her when she thought of him, over their travels they had become quite close. So close that she would even call him her best friend. He knew everything about her. From the friends who abandoned her to her parents who tried their best with a wilful pup. In turn she knew pretty much everything about him, she knew about his dislike of the cold and his sensitive hearing. She knew about how he believe he had received his distorted appearance from a ‘dragon’. She knew his memories were muddled. But who needed the past? After all the past was just that: the past and nothing more. It didnt contribute to the present besides making a person who they were and Kent knew who he was alright.
”Im tired” She said in a feigned exhaustion voice, a grin plastered across her face. ”Go on without me”

| [atrb=background,http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g459/BleedingXRazorXWrist/KentUITableBody7.png] Pine/Western Black Dragon Hybrid (Terrunus Pine x Draco Occidentalis) Kent grinned as he looked at Teara lay down lazily on the leaves and commenting she was tired and he should move on without her. His long tail wagged and he stepped closer to her, his jaws opened in a playful smile. ''Nope. I will wait with you and we will run together,'' he said as he lie down next to her, ''besides, I'm quite tired myself too. We've been to a lot of places over the days and I'd like a rest too.'' He looked around the Jungle in amazement. ''And I rather like this place, I don't mind staying here for a little while. It's not as horrible as some other areas we've been through, it's rather warm here at least.'' The only flaw he had noted about the Jungle was the endless sounds of animals, and even though it gave him a headache as he focused on it, he tried to get used to it. Or rather, he tried to ignore it. Nature was full of noises and while this part had a bit more noise than usual, it was something he had to accept.
He allowed his thoughts to roam back to the adventures they have had for so long. He had noticed he had changed more, for he had become more open to Teara and less shy. He had not encountered any other wolf for a long time and he was glad about that, he would have hated if some would had shouted hurtful words at him, or if one would had threatened them both. No, he had been with her alone for now and he hoped it would stay that way for the time being. Kent was not one who let his feelings for another develop fast though. He knew they eventually simply had to become mates and yet it still felt just odd and confusing to him. He had no true feelings of love stirring inside him either, love for a great friend yes but not as thinking her of his mate. He wondered if that were the same for Teara. He was glad she had taken their friendship slow and steady so far, and he didn't mind it was this way now either. Though, that was of course also because Kent hardly knew a thing about love relationships and he didn't expected very much of it. However, sometimes as he would look at Teara he did feel a strange stirring inside now and then. He would simply push it away and tell himself it was the whole Pine thing or because he still wondered about the faint memories. In truth he had not had these memories for quite a while, only very faint scenes would show up in his dreams at times but when he were awake he truly was with his mind in the present again and trying not to think too much. Kent let his head lay on his paws and gazed forward at all the greenery. He loved such nature, it all looked so alive and he truly felt good being in places like these.

She waited until he had lain down and then she put her head on his shoulder, letting it rest there and getting comfort from the closeness of another. She was carful of his spines of course; she did not want to lose an eye.... or worse. She yawned and then closed her eyes, she was in an in-between awake and asleep period but she felt like talking a little bit so she would talk with him till she fell asleep.
”What was your favourite part?” She asked referring to their travels, he knew her well enough to know what she was talking about. ”Mine was the times where we just sat and studied the world around or simply rested. Like now” she didn’t add that she liked the feeling of having another close to her. It had been a long while since she had had a friend whom she could lie with to keep warm or use was a pillow. She hadn’t had a good friend in a long time.

The spikes on his body flattened a bit in a manner the ears of a wolf would flatten too, and he let his head rest on her too, also being careful not to touch her purple spikes. At last he unfolded one of his wings and let it rest gently across her body. It was something he strangely liked to do, to put his wing on someone else. Over time he had slowly learned to accept himself more and he felt rather special and unique when he used his dragon parts for help for someone else. It almost seemed like a blanket covering her.
Her somewhat sleepy voice entered his ears and he smiled as he listened. ''I can agree with you. Yet I also liked those moments when we went into new places and saw them for the first time, it's such a thrill to see all kinds of new areas.'' He said. He almost wanted to say how he felt disappointed at times at the thought a pack had a territory to remain in, but he kept it in his thoughts for now. He did not want to bring that subject up just yet. ''So what do you think of this place, huh?'' he asked as he gazed around again.

When he put his wing over her she smiled, it was a nice feeling to have him holding her. It made her feel whole; it made her feel as if the world was fitting together just perfectly. As they lay there she could have sworn she was in heaven, lying interwoven with a strong male who was her best friend in the world and future lover surrounded by a world filled with life. She was happy.
She listened to his words before speaking again, her words sleepy. ”Its noisy but beautiful. Did you see the Orchids we passed on the way in? They were beautiful, all white and purple. They were so unique.” She sat up and looked him in the eyes, only having lifted her head. ”Your an Orchid you know that?” She let it sink in before continuing.
”Your amazing, your strong and different, your unique and of course beautiful aint the word to use for males but thats what you are. Your spines and wings and tail add a certain type of elegance to you. Most wolves would be just normal flowers. While you... your an Orchid. You are unique.”

Somehow that name had a secret meaning behind to him, a meaning that was still locked for him. Again, he tried to shrug the feeling of. It was probably nothing other than the naming for a flower. Kent's heart melted as he listened. He felt joyful to hear she thought of him like that. She was not comparing him to an ugly monster or demon but to something beautiful of nature. He whimpered softly and licked her cheek in a friendly way. ''Thank you so much, Teara. Those words mean the world to me... And you, you are special in my eyes in your own way too. You have the most kind and caring personality I could ever imagine, I feel glad and honored to be your friend, of such a beautiful Pine wolf.''
He buried his snout in her fur, breathing in her scent. But then he let his head lay on her normally again, one ear against her neck as he heard the pulse of her heart beating. He focused on it, blocking away the other sounds, and it worked well. He only heard her, the blood rushing through her veins, and awaited her voice to come too.

She smiled at him, glad he understood what she had been trying to say and glad that he had realised how important what she had said had been. She nuzzled him and licked his muzzle in return before returning to her sleepy state and cuddled against him. She giggled when he spoke his words and then allowed herself to sleepily drift off.
”Mind if I nap?” She asked, her voice filled with sleep. Her dreams were already pushing against the edge of her consciousness, ready to take control of her mind. She was so at ease and relaxed that she didn’t even take in where they were and whether they were in a safe sleeping place or not as she usually did before sleeping.

''Why not?'' he said, and as he watched the she-wolf slowly drifting to sleep, he relaxed himself too and awaited sleep to take over his mind. But no matter how long he waited, Kent simply wasn't tired. The thirsty feeling he had proved he had forgotten to hunt for quite some hours, perhaps the last time was even yesterday, he couldn't remember since he had not really a clear structure of hunting yet. His bloodlust often got the best of him and he would not care whether it was time to hunt or not, the blood of prey was all that mattered to him at such times. He had taught himself slowly to only drink blood when it was hunting time for wolves, and while he was getting used to it, the random structure he still held in his mind often made him confused and wary on when to hunt.
And now the dragon wolf was thirsty again, his instincts were craving for blood plus it would help him to get to sleep at a faster rate. It was as if the blood was a sleeping medicine for him. But he could not really get away at this rate now Teara lay by his side. He did not want to wake her up, but the more he waited the more thirsty and annoyed he became. As he waited he thought about her words again, and he smiled. They had made him happy as they were the most precious and kind words one had ever told to him. He casted another glance at her in the corner of his eye, wondering what she would be dreaming about.

She felt asleep in a heartbeat but her dreams were riddled with nightmares of the wolf she cared for so much harming her in one way or another and so within half an hour of falling asleep she shuddered awake and stood up, walking quickly and stretching. She wasn’t walking to get away from Kent but rather to get away from the dreams. When she realised what she was doing she made a show of stretching and then she looked at him with a grin. He was less than three metres away.
”Im awake now” She said with a chuckle, her dreams thankfully forgotten. She smiled innocently at him and then she put her rump on the ground with a thump. ”What ya wanna do?”

He had tilted his head in a question-like manner for a second but as she grinned at him he knew she were all right, and he grinned back.
He stood up too, once she spoke to him and halfly circled around her for a moment. ''I'd like to hunt,'' he said, his voice was hoarse and his tongue felt dry from the thirst he had to bare the whole time. He shuddered as he could almost smell her blood and hear her heartbeat. ''If you would not mind,'' he went on, ''I need to have something fast, Teara.'' He spoke on a more serious tone.

She nodded, somehow feeling his urgency and without word she allowed him to lead the hunt. It was over quicker than she had anticipated. They were able to get some strange sort of hog, one that was as big as the two of them combined along with razor tusks. It hadn’t been an easy hunt and while the creature lay lifeless Teara sat catching her breath. It was Kent’s right to have first bite from the still warm flesh after all.

He ripped out a chunk of meat and crushed it in his mouth. Swallowing it, his hungry eyes saw the blood trickling down on the large wound and his tongue flicked out to lap at the blood. Once the blood became less he devoured another piece of meat and drank again as the red subtance flowed down his throat. The process continued until his eyes slowly became a red color, and the male whined and blinked as the pain burned in his eyes.
Knowing his bloodlust was filled, he stepped away from the carcass, allowing Teara to eat from it. The monstrous hunter within fade as he lain down and he licked up the remaining blood of his muzzle as far as he could reach.

She had seen this happen many times when they hunted, the first time it had scared her half to death but she had learned to live with it. She never commented or asked about it because quit frankly she didnt want to know. Perhaps some part of Vita’s ‘gift’ was a cursed, perhaps he was supposed to share a kill’s blood rather than the meat. Either way she was happy just leaving him be. He had never hurt her before during his frenzied state. So she waited till he was finished eating before she delicately picked at the carcass, she was hungry but she couldn’t bring herself to eat for some reason. He would most likely sleep now so she would scout out the land and find the fun places before he woke up.
She nuzzled him and left him to sleep before disappearing into the jungle. She did this after every meal and surely he was used to it by now, she sniffed around and chased after a few ground-animals playfully simply because she could. She then climbed to the top of the water fall and studied the entire land, it was amazing. She wasn’t quite at the top of the trees but if she craned her neck she could see way past the tops of the trees. With a grin she jumped off the waterfall and landed in the water with a soft plop.
She hadn’t anticipated the current in the water and soon she was being pulled deeper and deeper under water while she struggled her life flashed before her eyes. When she reached the surface she would scream for him, hoping he wasn’t too asleep to not hear her. “KENT”

| [atrb=background,http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g459/BleedingXRazorXWrist/KentUITableBody7.png] Pine/Western Black Dragon Hybrid (Terrunus Pine x Draco Occidentalis) Kent smiled as he watched the she-wolf and he then lay his head on his paws. He yawned and then closed his eyes, knowing his friend was used to his odd behavior he didn't had to fight against the tiredness. His eyes opened briefly again as Teara nuzzled him and as he looked at her walking away he dropped his head and curled up his body.
The male growled and twitched in his sleep as dreams filled his mind's eye. His left ear swiveled as a splashing sound reached his hearing but Kent was too far stuck in his sleep to bother about it. But a few seconds later his head jolted up as his own name was called. His heart thundered and he shook his head wildly to shake off the sleep. Teara. She was in danger.
Kent stood up and sniffed at the ground to follow the females tracks. He soon arrived at a high spot where Teara had stood previously and he whimpered as he couldn't track her down anymore, her scent lost in the air. But as he looked down he saw the struggling wolf, her body swept underwater and briefly going up again to grasp for her breath. ''No...'' he growled. He had to act fast. The rocks in the far distance looked dangerous. Taking a few steps back, he took a sprint, leaped and unfolded his wings in the air. He dove down and as he reached the water his wings flapped down to send him a few inches up again. He shivered as he saw the rapid waters moving below him and he quickly rose a bit higher again before heading toward his friend. For once the male was glad with his ability of flying, and as he reached near Teara at last he slowed down and tried to grab her. But Kent then realized her weight might be too heavy since he had much lighter bones than her, and he would be swept underwater, too. The dragon wolf growled softly, but he had a plan and it was risky. Once he saw his chance, he attempted to lock his teeth around the scruff on her neck, and with all his power he flung her sideways hopefully on the shore. But the movement had made him lose his balance and now he plunged down in the river. Water filled his lungs and he coughed terribly. As his head went up he gazed quickly around hastily for any nearby object to wrap his long tail around, perhaps it would be all that would save him. But even if it didn't, better he dead than her.

She was beginning to give up; she was beginning to give herself over to the water. She was beginning to quite like the feeling of the water rushing around her; the swishy-slushy sound was lulling her to sleep. She had after all had such a troubled sleep earlier. She stopped struggling and let the water carry her, sending a silent prayer up to Terrunus and Vita. Dying in water was the equivalent of losing one’s soul. After all the water reflected the star’s light instead of letting it in.
She was waiting for the crash into the rocks when she was suddenly hurled through the air. At first she thought she was already dead and in a way she was in bliss. She had always wanted to fly and now she could. Now she was soaring, now she was an eagle way up high. Perhaps her soul wasn’t lost after all.
Instead she crashed into a rotten tree, its branches crunching beneath her and a log falling across the water, with a few branches been carried downstream. The large wolf moaned, not knowing what was going on. Her eyes were tightly shut and she was too scared to open them.
