Above the stars looked down in pride as Teara ran to the river, she was sweating from the exertion but her heart was pounding with the excitement. Clouds drifted through the sky, making the light unreliable but her eyes glowed the unearthly colour of a wolf in the night. Her spikes and horns were flattened while her tongue hung out her mouth. She trotted over to the river and drank deeply before lifting her muzzle to the sky and letting out a howl. Her howl sang of joy, happiness and excitement but it also called to Kent so that they could leave to mark the land. She had just being scouting and she had left him with a kill of a small pig-like creature that they had made together.
Today had being an interesting one of course, but she was happy because he was no longer being distant and they had something to work on. They were working towards the future and even though Kent did not love her yet, his desire to love her was proof that he indeed did love her even if he didn't know it. With a chuckle she sat on her haunches and waited for him, her sweat scenting the air around her like a sweet perfume.

Kent awoke at an instant once the howl of Teara reached his ever so sensitive ears. His eyes opened and his head went up. The male casted a glance at the prey they had killed before. His eyes were a dull green, not as lively as always for they hadn't fully reverted back from the red.
Kent soon arrived and saw Teara sitting near the river. Her sweaty scent filled his nostrils and it made him quiver. She must have done a lot of work and he immediately felt guilty he had made her do it all alone, but perhaps he could help out now.
''Hello Teara,'' he barked as he padded closer to her, his long tail wagging slightly, ''Can I help you with anything?''

While she waited she started stalking a cricket, as she was about to jump on the small creature Kent’s scent wafted up to her and she grinned. She was glad that he was here, despite him not loving her back she still loved him and just his smell made her heart beat faster. Her head whipped around and a grin covered her face, the cricket had long since being forgotten. She wagged her tail animatedly as she listened to him speak.
”Ya, i just patrolled everywhere and decided where the borders should be. Now we just have to mark them. Obviously you will smell me being there but it wont stay that way for long. Specially if it rains which it seems to do a lot here. But anyways either we can do it together or we can split up and do it? That is... if you still wanna help me start the pack” She said smiling, she had no problem with the fact that she had scouted alone. In fact she had being thankful for it. It had given her time to think.

Kent nodded his head as he listened to the she-wolf's words.
''Of course I still want to help,'' he said, a grin covering his muzzle. He always wanted to help others, he found it hard to refuse but he didn't mind helping now.
He scented the air for a moment and confirmed it indeed was true Teara's scent was strong all over the place. Warning away any possible intruders. But of course the scent of an alpha male would be even more clear to those who wanted to trespass.
''Whichever way you prefer of marking the borders is fine by me, I don't mind either way,'' he said, and he looked at the distance. ''So where do we start?'' Kent asked.

She thought for a moment and whipped her body around in a circle trying to decide. Both alternatives had their pro and con sides but with a sigh she decided that getting it done faster was more important than having company while she travelled.
”You go round that way,” She said pointing behind him, ”I will go this way, when we are done we return back here?” She grinned at him then turned and disappeared into the underbrush her tail held high.
As she marked the territory she made sure to keep her stance as dominant as possible which was easy. She was falling into the Alpha role quite easily. When she reached the end of her marking marking she rumbled with satisfaction and ran back to where she had left Kent. Hopefully he would get his areas done as quickly as she had. Perhaps he was even already by the river.

''That's fine,'' he answered.
He looked at the part of the territory he had to mark and quickly rushed to there. He would rub his flank against a nearby tree, then trotting further and as he reached a rock he lifted one hind leg to cover it in his scent. The process of marking the territory went on with ease and soon enough he sunk in his thoughts.
He shivered as he reached the river with the roaring waterfall. Kent could not help but remember when he and Teara had almost meet their deaths from that day. He quickly moved on and tried to keep his mind off of the subject but it wasn't very easy with the scenes roaming in his head. At last he decided the borders would be at the end of the river and once he was done he quickly ran back to the spot he would meet Teara again.
She stood already waiting for him and as he reached her he wagged his long tail and nuzzled her in a friendly way. He had no words to say so he sat down and awaited her.

She nuzzled him back, his display of affection a little bit unannounced and unexpected. It made her wonder if this whole learning to love thing was working. She cocked her head at him with a playful grin, her tail wagging joyfully behind her.
”Did it go smoothly?” She asked sitting on her haunches, her head still cocked.

A smile pulled at his lips and he nodded his head happily.
''Yes, yes. It went all good. And how about you?''
He looked around the area and grinned. Yes, it was still a lovely place to him and he had gotten used to the repeating sounds of the jungle.

She grinned at him and cocked her head to the side in an almost playful-like manner, she had an idea; an idea for some fun. She rightened her head and with a shy smile she stepped forward, towards him. She licked his muzzle gently before stepping back from him and winking. The water here was shallow and calm, it would make for easy wading and so with an almost suggestive grace she nodded towards the water.
”Want to swim?” She asked, a sly look covering her face. A playful sly of course. nothing that would bring him harm. Simply a bit of fun. One day he would be her mate and simply because of that they were entitled to have a bit of playful fun every now and then. It didnt always have to revolve around the pack.

He shivered slightly as she requested him to go for a swim. Well, he liked to swim bit the emeralds on his tail which were heavier than the rest of his already light body, would give him quite some troubles as it would pretty much sink down like an anchor.
And yet, he couldn't refuse her offer either. Because he shouldn't keep running from his problems, and because he did it for her.
Again he shivered as the she-wolf licked his muzzle. He wasn't quite sure what to think of it but he ignored his thoughts.
''All right, then,'' he said rather nervously.
He began to pad toward the cool water and lowered his body, but gazing away from his reflection and awaiting Teara to go in.

She grinned at him and slowly, seductively, playfully lowed herself into the water until only her ears eyes and nose were above the water. Of course a few of her bright pink spikes were too and the glistened as if they were melting in the water. Her fur clung to her as if made of chocolate sauce and her eyes glittered from having gotten wet. One could see the grin she had in her eyes, one could almost feel the giggling of a child coming from her mind.

He watched the she-wolf wade into the water and as he looked at her he chuckled for a moment, shook his head and then stood up and leaped into the water. A strong splash could be heard and he struggled underwater for a moment, before he peddled his way up and snorted. His tail which hung down in the water forced him to put most of his energy in staying above the surface. But he remembered again his tail wasn't only a hinder in the water. In fact it had a good side too which could help him. It was for gaining speed.
Rising his tail up, he then gave a flick of his strong tail and he made his way to Teara. It looked similar as how a crocodile would propel through the water. He then tugged at her ear attempting to push her down under in a playful manner.

She giggled and let him pull her underwater. Taking a deep breath she disappeared, tugging her ear out of Kent’s grip. Underwater she swam around Kent so that her spikes didnt hurt him and when she reached his back paw she bit gently on it and then jerked away, surfacing about a metre away from him and laughing. As she surfaced sparkling drops of water splashed around everywhere like tinkling bells.

The male grinned and was starting to get the hang of it. Play was one of the best ways to get to know one another better. Words weren’t needed. He waited for some seconds as the she-wolf was still underwater and he twitched as he felt her biting at his hind paw. He yipped playfully and then dove underwater as well and as he reached Teara he ducked his snout under her lower jaw and nuzzled her slightly. Simply because it felt right to do for once. He let his nose touch her thick neck fur and then blew out the air, causing bubbles to rise up and tickling them. Kent smiled wide and as he realized he was in need of oxygen he swam upwards again dragging his long tail behind.
His paws slammed at the water’s surface as he reached at last and he inhaled the air deeply. At times like these he couldn’t help but wonder how creatures of the sea could live underwater. But then again they could wonder too how it was for wolves like them to live on the land. Kent spread out his large wings and flapped with them a few times to shake off the water and to create ripples in the water itself. He looked down awaiting Teara to swim up at any moment.

It was at times like these that Teara felt like she could really fit in anywhere, when Kent nuzzled her she felt a warm glow emanate throughout her and when he blew bubbles at her throat she could not help but pull away giggling and scratching at her neck with her paws. When he splashed to the surface she could not help but splash back at him and then dart out of the water. She stood on the bank giggling at him like a cub before winking and disappearing into the jungle. Of course her wink had said catch me if you can. So she ran with newfound determination, sure that he was on her tail.
