An eerie feeling crept over him as his green eyes looked up and took in the area. The weather was hot although it did not bother Kent so much, for he was build to resist warm weather. His large ears made him cool down easily and his fur was short and a thin pelt covered his frame. His mind drifted off to the dreams he had lately. Unknown yet familiar faces came up in his mind's eye and he longed to know to who they belonged too. Although Kent did not normally believe so well in the Stars, he often howled for Vita to ask who they were. Receiving no answer, he scolded in mind at the being. Partly for ignoring him, partly for having cursed him as he was told.
The draconian Pine neared a clearing, and he paused his walk for a moment to look around. Heat was resistible, yes, but he also was in need of a liquid form to soothe his throat. Not water as the regular wolf would think, but Kent craved for blood on his tongue. Kent trotted toward the bushes and searched as silently as he could. Then, his ears twitched as he heard a rustling sound. Upon figuring out within a few seconds where the sound came from, he turned his head slightly and snapped with his jaws into a soft, small body. He shut down his teeth harsher until the animal stopped moving and then let loose his grip to see what kind of prey it was. A mouse. The male couldn't help but grin for a moment. It was quite lucky to get one since they usually move swiftly and fast. Proudly Kent walked back and lay down on the grasses. His teeth buried themselves in the small body, tearing it open and then his tongue flicked out of his jaws to lap at the flowing blood. His snout got covered in red stains and he growled from pleasure as the substance went down his throat. Once he were satisfied, he gobbled up the mouse within one swift movement, its long tail peeking out of his closed jaws before he swallowed it a whole.
He let himself fall down lazily on his side, stretching out his wing so he did not lie down on it. His other wing was put over his body as if it were some sort of a blanket of protection, the sharp scales resting on top of the fur. Of the dragon and the wolf. Suddenly that one face flashed in his mind again, of the brown she-wolf with two differently colored eyes. She looked magnificent, almost magical to him and he felt a longing bigger for her than for the other faces he had seen so far. Who was she? Or rather, who was he? He was wishing desperately to know the answers to his questions, he was growing tired of the empty gap in his mind that was in fact his true past.

As a Terrunus Pine Teara observed one bond as the most important, more important than the bond of friendship, more important than the bond between parent and child. Of course this was the bond between mates, Terrunus Pines know about their mates since the day they are born, they have an image burned into their mind. This of course didnt mean that they knew their mates, it simply meant they knew what they looked like.
She was hunting a small creature created by the Star of fire, luckily for her it did not have the flames the Aduro Phoenix’s had but it was a rather bright colour and about half her size. It moved slowly yet it had horns and those were most likely dangerous. Her own horns and spikes had small venom tubes that she could activate at will. She didn’t know what her venom did yet, she had never had the opportunity to try it on anything other than prey and the prey never told her much.
When she saw him she stopped, the slow moving Aduro-creature disappeared into the underbrush and she let it. He looked like a Pine like she but he had wings like a creature of Ventus. She cocked her head to the side, curious but also surprised. She had known this, she had known he would be like this yet she had never thought on it. She had never thought about why the mate-image in her mind had wings or why his horns where not brightly coloured. It was simply not something that had occurred to her.
With a deep intake of breath she took a couple of steps before him and cleared her throat to get his attention. ”Of what are you?” there was wonder and amazement in her voice. After all he seemed to be a cross between two stars, two stars that she doubted would work together.

| [atrb=background,http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g459/BleedingXRazorXWrist/KentUITableBody7.png] Pine/Western Black Dragon Hybrid (Terrunus Pine x Draco Occidentalis) Kent's ears twitched and swiveled around nervously as he heard a being approaching. Paw steps he didn't knew whether he should feel good about or not, and as any predator would have in such situations was the old instinct of fighting or fleeing. But instead of doing either of them Kent was stuck in-between for he could not decide what to chose. He was shocked upon hearing the sudden sound of ones throat clearing, and his head turned nervously to look the being in the eyes.
He could hardly believe it. This couldn't be real, it was really her, the brown she-wolf that had been stuck in his mind for so long. But she looked different than how he had pictured her before. She had purple horns on her head and sides, and he had not seen those before in his visions. But what did it matter? It was really her, the two-colored eyes proved it strikingly to him. He stared in amazement at her, her words only sinking through his mind a mere seconds later. He was surprised at what she asked, and a tad bit disappointed too. It was such a common question for him he got bullied with so much in the past, for he was different. ''Vita has cursed me to be dragon for a part,'' he muttered gravely, his eyes suddenly turning away to look at the ground. ''Go ahead and hate me for what I am, everyone does in my life.'' Somehow the words he said to her didn't felt right to him to say, and he wished he could take them back. Something told him this wolf wasn't bad, that she wasn't like the other nasty wolves he had encountered. Kent stood up and eyed the female again, as if he were searching for the truths. He stepped closer but then paused as one paw remained mid-air, and his spikes and ears flattened as he took on a somewhat submissive position. ''Just... who are you? I thought you were merely a dream, and I've been longing to see you...'' he spoke slowly. ''But it's strange, I know you yet I don't know you at the same time, just as I don't understand myself either.'' He looked at the she-wolf hopefully, ''Are you maybe the one who has the answers for me?'' he asked, but he then shook his head warily. He realized he was talking too much again, talking of things that might even not make sense to the female.

Teara looked at him incredulously as if what he had said had been the silliest thing she had ever heard. If she had been touched by Vita she would be proud of it, after all Vita was a star, the stars were gods, they had magic that even she couldn’t comprehend. A half-grin covered her maw and she chuckled at him and placed her rump on the ground with a thump, her tail wagging.
”Vita hasn’t cursed you! I mean look at you! You have wings, you can fly” She said longingly and she looked at the sky, she wondered what it would be like to soar above all the creatures of the land like a bird. ”Beyond your wings and tail you are normal to me, you are a Pine are you not? Do you not know the legends?” She looked at him expectantly; she had no problem with explaining the story of the stars to this lost wolf.
”I am Teara Yora, I am also a Pine. We are bonded; Pines know who they are to be mated to from birth.” she cocked her head to the side curiously, confused that he didn’t know this. ”This is common knowledge, why do you not know it? We are bonded yes, but that doesn’t mean we know each other. It simply means we are more compatible with each other than we would be with any other wolf. As many say we were made for each other. Of course there is much debate about the origin of this and such but I won’t bore you with it. Why don’t you know?”

| [atrb=background,http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g459/BleedingXRazorXWrist/KentUITableBody7.png] Pine/Western Black Dragon Hybrid (Terrunus Pine x Draco Occidentalis) As the female sat down, Kent followed her movement as well. He shook his head angrily at her words. ''What is so good about that if I am getting bullied by other Pines because of it the whole time? They laugh at me, they hate me and they cannot accept me for what I am. They call me a monster and a demonic being, thinking I'm from some sort of a place they call Hell. Besides, I'm not going to fly if everyone's going to stare in a creepy way at me.'' He tilted his head sideways slightly as she mentioned the legends. ''I know of them faintly, yes, for each wolf had been taught about them. No offense though but I don't fully believe in them. You know, everything that had happened could also had been a coincidence or simply meant to be just as the world had been shaped,'' he said as his shoulder blades rose and fell down in a shrug, ''somehow it feels to me something is not right. As if everything in my life is just one big lie and the truth is missing. Like I'm being blinded.''
His ears swiveled forwards in surprise as she said her name and the fact they were bonded already. ''Teara?'' he said. That name rang a faint howl in his mind. Vageu scenes showed up in his mind, the memories of his unknown past. They showed him Teara without the purple spikes lying with her head on his neck in a dark night, and of the time when they had met as Kent had followed the scent and ended up in front of her den. The male shook his head once again. They did not make any sense to him and how they got in his mind. He listened to the rest she had to tell and it only made him more confused. ''I honestly have no idea why I do not know all of this knowledge. Perhaps they forgot to teach me,'' he said. ''But are we really meant to be mates, then? If that's true then that's quite strange. Yes, I admit your face had come up in my mind a lot of times but I had no other feelings about it. I was merely wondering who you are...'' Kent let out a soft sigh. It was strange in such a short time they met they shared so many words with each other. Kent was not even used to talking so much himself for he rarely spoke with others. And then this whole fact they were destined to be mates came quite like a blow to him. ''Well, if it's true I want to ask before we become real mates I just would like to know you better. As person. I'm sorry, I just don't want to rush it too much, you know. I've never been in a relationship before,'' but as he said that he wondered about the foggy memories again, ''I guess.''

With Kent’s word Teara’s heart dropped, not only was he taunted for his magnificent appearance but he also did not believe in their makers. It was most likely the fact that he did not believe in the stars that hurt her most. After all if he had been touched by Vita and transformed then surely he had met her? Her heart fluttered at the thought of meeting the life-giving star, the powerful being that could take life away with a flick of her tail. Suddenly she doubted that this male was the one meant for her, despite the fact that he had been imprinted on her mind since she was young. Perhaps her image was mistaken. Perhaps he wasn’t even a Pine perhaps he was a new kind of species.
The drop of her emotions didnt make it to her body stance and still grinning she listened to the rest of what he had to say in silence, all the while her heart bled. She said nothing until he was finished talking and while she listened to him talk she prepared what she was going to say.
”Perhaps I was mistaken... sometimes that happens. After all some wolves do look alike, and those who taunted you are fools. The Pines I know would never do such things. You still haven’t given me your name?” Her smile dampened while she spoke and her stance relaxed, still she didnt give away the hurt she felt. How could the one she was meant for not believe in the stars?

| [atrb=background,http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g459/BleedingXRazorXWrist/KentUITableBody7.png] Pine/Western Black Dragon Hybrid (Terrunus Pine x Draco Occidentalis) He lowered his head disappointed as the female spoke of him being possibly mistaken to be her mate. ''Mistaken?'' he whimpered. Somehow the thought changed his mood completely. ''No, please. Don't think like that just yet. I only need to get used to the idea, that's all. Just give me a chance, you are the first who does not seem to hate me and I'm already happy with that. Don't leave me... I beg of you.'' The male had started shaking badly out of fear, unsure what to do in an unknown situation like this. Kent felt embarrassed as she had mentioned he had not given her his name yet. How stupid could he be? He was so caught up in the whole conversation he forgot about the most important details. ''I'm sorry, forgive me. My name is Kent Laiton,'' he said as he dipped his head slightly in respect. He sensed a feeling of disappointment coming off of the female. Of course she hid it away perfectly but the male could just sense emotions weakly due to past experiences. He looked away guiltily for a moment. Perhaps it was the way he had talked about the Stars had made her upset. He knew many wolves in these lands believed in them deeply and put faith in them, but Kent was more like stuck in-between. He wanted to have true proof of them existing. Of course he thought it was possible but so far he had only heard of them in legends and lore and once the voice in his head of a Goddess, but the latter Kent had always thought was merely his imagination.
His eyes looked up to her again, but upon having noticed her smile had faded he whimpered softly. ''My apologies for being such a disappointing beast,'' he said the word beast with a bit of a rough edge to it, though he hadn't meant to. ''I should not have spoken like that about our Vita. Perhaps she had a reason to cur...'' he paused for a moment as he sought for the correct word, ''bless me to be like this.'' Kent shuddered as he found it weird he had spoken like that, but he truly felt sorry for her, even if it was not the case why she was probably disappointed in him. He trembled on his long legs as he stood up and padded closer to his 'mate'. He gazed as if he were hypnotized for a moment, then blinked to snap out of it. The male then brought his muzzle closer to her left ear, being careful not to touch one of her spikes. ''Do you remember me, Teara? I think I do...'' he whispered with a shaking voice. He found it odd of himself to suddenly bring up the subject but he was desperate to know. It had to be true, she had to know him. Those images didn't show up in his mind for nothing.

She allowed his words to run over her, perhaps he hadn’t been thinking properly when he spoke. Perhaps he had just been in a bad mood and so with a bit of a change of heart her smile became genuine. When he spoke in her ear she moved her head to the side, smiling shyly and taking a step back. Not understanding what his intentions but that had been.
”Your not disappointing... your just not what I expected. Its like hunting for rabbits and getting a squirrel instead. The creature is still just as filling and tasty but its different.” She said stepping backwards, her genuine grin still plastered across her face. She ignored the words he had whispered in her ear, perhaps his suggestion of friendship first and mates later was not such a bad idea. She would take her time courting him.

''That's a good comparison. I understand it now, but I'll do my best to become that rabbit instead in a sense, if that's possible of course.'' He smiled gently at her. He still found the idea of eventually having to fall in love with Teara weird but somehow he knew it was right, too. He would just have to give over to it and get used to the new experience. After all it was a part of life, not? He wouldn't had thought to ever get a mate in the first place, but as he thought about it more and looked at Teara he was starting to like the idea of it more, and it made more sense to him. As if a few lost puzzle pieces of his mind were coming together.
He found it odd she had pretty much ignored his other question though and honestly was a bit disappointed about it, but he let it be like how it was now. He wasn't in the mood to repeat everything. ''So what now?'' He wondered out aloud. ''We're supposed to hang out together, right? So what do you want to do, Teara? Hunting, sleeping, swimming... I'm up for anything.'' He glanced around for a moment. Well, if there was a place to swim. He had not encountered any water yet during his travels in this forest, or he overlooked it since he had been more focused on blood.

She grinned at him and wagged her tail before lying down completely and rolling over onto her back. ”Come lie with me and play the ‘what if’ game” She said smiling. The game had been a game her mother had played with her and her siblings. It was a good game to try and understand another’s personality which was of course something she wanted to know. She wanted to know him and the game would tell her faster than anything else.
”What you do is I give you a situation and you tell me how you would respond to the situation okay?” She said with a giggle, it was obvious she was going to go first. ”What if you were hunting one day, you were hunting a rabbit and you were in a forest with trees as tall as the sky itself. And then as you lunged for the rabbit it asked you not to kill it? What would you do?” Of course prey couldn’t talk, but if they could would that change how they acted towards it? Teara would most likely become a vegetarian.

''Okay,'' he said a bit unsure before he lain down next to her. He looked at her head as it was upside-down to him. He rather remained on his stomach for it was a struggle with his spikes to lay on his back. He did it rarely.
He nodded his head at the explanation of the game, wagged his tail a bit and then listened to her question. He quite liked the idea of it and he had to think about her question for a few seconds. ''I believe the hunter should feel no mercy for making a kill. It's part of our lives and even though it would be harder to make kills we must continue. The wolf cannot live on plants I'm afraid and I like the taste of flesh and blood too much to give up on that,'' he said, lifting his head for a moment to glance at the skies above. He thought about his blood lust for a moment and then shook his head. ''No, I'm afraid I cannot even do that. You see Teara I have this strange craving for blood and I sort of need it in a way.'' He felt a bit bad as he said it but it was the truth. At least this game seemed to work well. He wondered what he should ask her next, and he grinned as a question for her came up in his mind. ''What would you do if you had wings? Would you use them to fly or not?''

It was of course something that meant he could provide for a family. She was curious about it but now was not the time to discuss such things, now was the time for the game and so far she was enjoying it. The look she had received into his soul told her that he would always be able to provide for her and her young even if the meal would be drained of blood. Not something she needed much. She needed the meat.
”I would fly far away, not to escape or anything and not to hurt anyone but simply to see what is out there and what there is to learn” She grinned, happy with her answer, ”My turn now, hmmmm.... what would you do if the pack you were part of was sick and the herb to heal them was located far away and they couldn’t get it themselves?”

No, Kent always thought negatively about his dragon parts. ''To learn, huh...''' he muttered, reciting her words, ''I've hunted on flying scavengers a few times but I have not gone high into the skies yet. It gets cold up there and I hate the cold.'' As he said it he even shuddered a little. ''But perhaps I can find out someday... if I could take you with me to the skies one day I'd gladly do it for you, if you want.''
He then frowned a bit and tilted his head at her next question. He had to think deeply for an answer. ''Well, I'd get it myself I suppose. I'd do anything to help those I care about even if it were to take my life.'' He said, nodding his head in confirmation. ''Especially if I ever will be an alpha I would not mind taking that responsebility.'' He said. ''Now my question for you is...'' he had to think for some seconds before he came up with something. ''If your life would be trapped in a legend that would change fates, and you have foreseen your own death, would you complete your quest knowing you will die or flee from it without changing the destiny of the world and living your own life?'' He could not wait answering the question himself. ''For me, I think it is not important how long you live but what you succeed with in it. If I could do something really important, it would carry on into the future, no? Oh I'm sorry though, you may of course have your own opinion to say too. I got a bit... excited I guess.''

His offer to take her flying made her heart leap, she definitely wanted to but... would he be able to carry her weight? They were about the same size, he was only bigger because he was male and surely his wings struggled to keep him in the air as it was? Pines were not known for their light build after all, they were built like the trees they were named after. Big. She nodded in response to his question then perked her ears, excited and ready to answer his.
His question stunned her, it was one of the deeper questions that was rarely asked, she kept her thoughts on the question to herself though while she considered the answer. ”I wouldn’t consider myself selfless or anything but I think I would carry on simply because we all die in the end don’t we? I would like my bloodline to go on though, my father would have a fit if I let his bloodline die” She chuckled at the last bit before rolling on to her belly.
”Would you join a mafia?” She had put her voice into a acting tone, a tone that whispered of playfulness but spoke of the mafia’s conspiracy theories. She stared at him in the eyes as if she were an investigator questioning him. All the while she was playing which was seen by the thumping of her tail and grin.

''Yes, that is true. We could choose either an important life or a more enjoyable one... well, it's hard. I'm sure once I'd be in a situation like that I would find it hard to choose, too,'' he said. He frowned at her next question, not quite getting what she meant with it. ''I... eh, I don't really know. A mafia is some group doing evil deeds, no? I'm not one like that. I first want to find out the mysteries about myself and then think about such things,'' but as Kent thought about it, it sounded quite thrilling to do such bad things.
He lifted his wings a bit in the form of a shrug. ''Well, I've run out of good questions for now.'' He growled. ''Have you got any other interesting facts to say about yourself?'' He thought he knew her well enough by now. Although he wondered what her past was like, and why she had not answered his question of her possibly remembering him. But such questions would be better to ask later. For now he just wanted to have some fun. Kent was not quite used to have a positive form of company around him, and it made him smile but also wonder if he wouldn't do or say things wrong. He lacked some social skills, after all. He casted a brief glance at the female again, his eyes nervously flicking from side to side. He found it still odd how she would be destined to become his mate eventually, but first they would have to develop a good friendship. No one would fall in love with another so soon except if they only cared about appearance. Yes, she was a beautiful she-wolf, that wolf that still made him wonder about the images in his mind. He had hoped so much she knew the answers about him but it appeared not to be, or she was hiding them away from the male.
